The 6 week matwork Pilates course is aimed at beginners. Class numbers will be limited to ensure participants receive all the required attention that is needed. People can pay up front for all 6 weeks at a price of £36 or choose to drop in on the sessions if space for £7 per class. Pilates mats are provided.

Pilates was created by German-born Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s and incorporates elements of yoga, martial arts, gymnastics and dance. Initially it was adopted by professional dancers in the US as an effective form of recovery after injury.
Pilates is an exercise system that focuses on teaching you a new movement skill, gradually developing your body awareness, increasing your strength and flexibility, improving your posture and coordination.

About the teacher

In addition to being a REPs registered Pilates professional Helen has over 8 years experience in the Fitness Industry. As a personal Trainer she’s worked closely with clients designing effective exercise programs & offering nutritional advice, ensuring they achieve their desired health & fitness goals. Having worked as a GP referral instructor she has helped aid the recovery of numerous individuals suffering from a range of different ailments via a comprehensive exercise program incorporating Pilates techniques.

I myself am a keen cyclist and climber that has found by incorporating Pilates into my regular training regime it has helped me to stay injury free and also accelerated my progression in these disciplines.
